Hunting/Shooting/Fishing

ARCHERY AND BOWHUNTERS CLUB
 
The club meets weekday evenings, and for special target or 3-D events, on the weekends.  The Youth Development Program conducts lessons (with one level three instructor and several qualified coaches) on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings between 7 and 8:30 pm, with advanced lessons available Wednesday evenings. 
 
The range is located at the display building in the Selkirk Park beginning mid October to the end of April. 
 
The club then moves to an outdoor range May through August.  For additional information please contact 482-9380. 
 
GAME AND FISH ASSOCIATION
 
Membership is open to all.  Club facilities open to Members. Activities throughout the year include such things as fish derbies, snowmobile derbies, archery, Junior programs, trap shooting, benchrest activities, pistol club, big game competitions and conservation projects.
 
Winding up the year's activities is the Selkirk Game & Fish Assoc. Annual Sportsman's Banquet.  (Awards for big game, waterfowl, fish, competitions, etc).  Facility located on Road 80 North off Hwy 59.

RIFLE CLUB (Junior)
 

Membership open to boys and girls from the ages of 10 and up.  Members learn in-depth Hunter Safety, a 10 month program, as well as developing safe and proper gun handling technique.  Members also receive the opportunity to compete at club levels as well as Provincial.  During the year we also try to include field trips.  Most Junior Rifle Members, at the end of the season, swing over to the Junior Shotgun program.  Shooting and Safety classes are held at the indoor shooting range at the Comprehensive School.  Volunteers are needed to assist with teaching.  Registration for Junior Rifle is taken in October, depending on range availability.  For additional information contact 482-8945 or visit www.selkirkgameandfish.ca
