Hazardous Waste

Hazardous Waste Day –
June 23th, 2012

Each year the City of Selkirk Operations Department conducts a Hazardous Waste Day as long as it is approved by Manitoba Environment.  The Hazardous Waste Day is advertised in the local newspaper and on the City of Selkirk website, as well as being advertised on the City sign located in the centre median on Main Street by Colcleugh Avenue.

Residents may use the free depot to dispose of all household hazardous wastes and containers, including paint and paint removal products, gasoline, batteries, poisonous substances and corrosive cleaners, outdated medication, aerosol cans, propane cylinders, pool chemicals, car batteries and pesticides.

If residents need to dispose of hazardous wastes at other times throughout the year, you may contact Miller Environmental Corporation at 925-9600.  For more information contact the Department of Operations at 785-4930.
