Pesticide Control Programs during 2010

CITY OF SELKIRK

PUBLIC NOTICE

 

 

 

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the City of Selkirk intends to conduct the following Pesticide Control Programs during 2010.

 

1.         TO CONTROL NOXIOUS WEED AND GRASSES ON CITY-OWNED PROPERTIES.

 

            The herbicides to be used include Roundup and Killex.

 

2.         TO CONTROL THE FOLLOWING INSECT PESTS:

 

-   Elm Bark Beetles on all Elm trees within the City of Selkirk, both City-owned and private properties, using chlorpyrifos as a basal spray.

 

            -   Cankerworms on City-owned trees, using thuricide by ground application.

 

            -   Adult mosquitoes using malathion and/or permanone.

 

            -   Larval mosquitoes using vectobac, aquabac and/or altosid.

 

The projected dates of application for the above programs will be from May 1 to October 31, 2010.

 

All of the pesticides used and procedures followed will be in accordance with federally approved label recommendations.

 

The public may send written submissions regarding these programs within 15 days of date of publication to:
